Here is the cake I made for my Mom's 60th birthday. The design was inspired by artist Marjolein Bastin including adorable plump birds hiding amongst brightly colored flower clusters that are tucked between layers of quilted white fondant-covered cake. The teal ribbons adorning the bottoms of each layer match the gumpaste/royal icing birdcage topper. Beneath the fondant lies two completely different cakes - the top one is a white cake covered in almond buttercream with triple raspberry filling - red, black and raspberry cream. The larger cake was made especially for my Mom - chocolate cake filled with orange-chocolate chip fudge, covered with orange-chocolate mousse buttercream. Happy Birthday Mom!

This is a birdcage cake topper made completely out of gumpaste - its for my Mom's 60th birthday.
This is a fun defibrillator cake to celebrate my boyfriend getting certified in CPR with defibrillation as part of his FDNY training. I had a lot of fun making the heart!

A specialized cake...really!
